I've just got off the phone to my frien who has a 7 year old border collie bitch. Over the weekend her right eye started weeping a little and then her mouth started drooping on the right side and she can't seem to stop drooling on that side. (she mentioned something about a ridge on the inside of her mouth, but i couldn't quite understand without seeing it.) Her mum mentioned that she was limping on that side but my friend doesn't remember seeing that. Anyway, they are worried that she may have had a stroke, but the eye is better and she isn't limping at the moment, it is just the mouth and the salivating that has continued. She is very well in herself apparently so they aren't entirely sure if she is unwell. They removed a bit of stuck grass from inside her mouth, but it hasn't made any difference.
Obviously they are going to take her to the vets tomorrow, unfortunately we are having a storm here though, and bronnie (the dog) hates storms. I could hear her panting like mad down the phone, so its not an option taking her to a vets tonight. However, could getting so stressed bring on another stroke, if that is what she had?
Finally she had her rabies innoculation for her pet passport a few weeks ago, it wouldn't be connected would it?
