Since Wednesday I have been unable to access any email accounts on Yahoo or the Yahoogroups to which I belong. To cut a long story short neither Yahoo nor BTinternet (our ISP) have been able to fix it.  I have cleared cache (cookies, offline files etc) checked accessibility and nothing I do or have been told to do by the 'experts' works.  Short of doing a complete system restore to before the problem started I am completely at a loss as what to do next.

What message do you get when you try to log in ?

I had this a while ago and it took about a week to correct itself.  I spent hours on the phone to BT/Yahoo who said it wasn't their fault and blamed it on us using Outlook and not Outlook Express.  We have done the same thing for years!!  My son reformatted the pc and it was still the same.  Miraculously, it righted itself!

I guess it was their fault all the time and they wouldn't admit it.

Can you check your mail via web based mail?

Sounds like we have the same problem, they blame everything else - I have spoken with Canada twice!  Maybe I just have to wait and see.  Never had a problem with them before!

I don't get any message, I can sign in, go through to the WELCOME page when I click inbox it times out - page cannot be displayed.  This happens every time with different yahoo addresses.

Hi do you have a firewall and have you updated it recently if you do you could try checking the settings for your yahoo mail .I had this recently with MSN and discovered it was my firewall.Gillian

defrag your pc. it will put files back into their rightful places. This should be done on a regular basis ie every 3 months earlier if you do a lot of downloading. Have to say not having probs with yahoo. Do you have sky digital? if so you can access it through that and if it still doesn't work then its yahoo.

Can't access it through that page either!  Page cannot be displayed once I sign in.

Have tried it without Firewall - actually have disabled all AV products too just to try it.

Defrag regularly anyway - usually monthly

If you have access to another computer somewhere try logging in on the link from there to see if the problem lies with your computer or Yahoo.

I've tried that, the 'help' center can log in as me, and have managed to get them to delete some mail for me and one kind girl forwarded some mail for me to another address.  So I know it can be done.

I can't access much at work ' cos it is all filtered out including Yahoo.
