has anyone any suggestions of how i can increase one of my boys intrest in showing?  he is not nervous or scared, he does not mind the judge going over him and will stand and move correctly, he just looks really bored and disintrested!!  have tried squeaky toys and everytype of food i can think of, nothing seems to keep his attention.  i dont want to use valerian as he needs waking up not calming down and i think i have seen a some sort of remedy called show sparkle or something? that can make them more intrested and alert?  any one heard of something like this?
many thanks,
kelly

Sometimes taking them out of the ring for a few months will help, otherwise you need to find a way of making him excited about the whole thing without disrupting the class. Sometimes ignoring the dog for a few hours before and then being attentive in the ring may work.

have not been showing him as much, his last show was in mid april and his next one will not be til mid june.  perhaps this little break might help?  i have tried lots of toys, squeakies, cat toys and even a piece of rabbit fur but nothing seems to intrest him!  which is why someone mentioned this show type supplement, will be off to the shop to find a toy he may like!

Maybe getting him really wound up by playing with a ball beforehand and then producing the ball from your pocket when he starts to look bored?

I have a bitch that did wonderfully as a pup and then lost interest - she would much rather be at home, she is now ten so won't be going back in the ring.
