So sorry about your puppy .However  if your puppy died from some kind of infection it may not be a good idea to get another puppy straight away as there will still be germs in your home and a new puppy could end up being just as ill.As for your daughter its hard for a little one to understand but I would tell her that your puppy was special and because of this its gone to live at the rainbow bridge which is a lovely place for puppies to play.
You haven't said what breed your puppy was either if someone should be able to help you.

So sorry to hear about your loss, but have to agree, that as the cause of death is unknown it would be best to wait. What is the opinion of the vet, do they think it was an infection or some sort of genetic problem. Your child will probably get over it far quicker that you will, tell her whatever fits in with what you are teaching her about life and death and tell her when the time is right that you may be able to have another puppy that will, not replace the one that has gone to Heaven (or what ever) as creatures like people can't be replaced, but will be very special in it's own way.

My heart goes out to you.
This will not replace your puppy, but didnt you have a contract from the breeder when you bought him? If so read it to see if you can be recompensed, also did you have 6 weeks insurance with the puppy - you may be entitled to claim. At least this will put you in a position to buy a new puppy when the time is right.
