Ok I have heard from so many forums that males dobes just DO NOT like other males dogs AT ALL! I own two male Dobe one is 3 1/2 years and the other is 18mts, I am due to pick up my new Dobe male pup staurday I am calling him Titch! So guys all my dogs get on like a house on fire, ok I wont leave them alone for too long when I am away but not many people can, am I pushing it getting 3 males? Both boys love other dogs all shapes sizes and sexes and are both submissive with other dogs and both are entire! Shall I go ahead getting worried now...............
No, the best time to get worried is when you come home and find the house covered in blood - then you need to worry about how to pay the vet's bills.

There are exceptions to nearly every rule - if anyone is stupid enough to sell you a third male then good luck to you - I just hope you all survive the experience!

As a Dobe owner who has researched the breed extensively BEFORE buying him, yes.....male dobes can be or become very dog aggressive, but much, much more so with their own breed. It is generally adamantly inadvisable to house two male Dobermans together, neutrered or not. Yes, there are exceptions. A reputable breeder here, would probably not sell you another male.
My breeder told me that my male Dobe and my male Chi mix would probably get on fine and be buddies. She too has a male Dobe and a male of another breed and it's just fine. It made/makes me very nervous still. But I wanted a male Dobe. So far all is fine. But he's only 9 months. That is one reason I was adamant about neutering, but it's still no guarantee.
I would definitely re-think this 3rd male if I were you and get a female. Your two might be an exception. The third is pushing it. Yes, you may think they're fine and when they get older and turn into Dobermans, you could have a serious situation. They sometimes will fight to the kill, which is not the usual thing in nature, just sometimes. They usually don't because they'd extinguish their species if they always did that. But it's different with Dobes apparently. And you could end up getting hurt yourself if you're in the middle of it.

If you get a bitch I would suggest you have her speyed...the chance of 2 males from a usually male to male aggressive breed getting on with a bitch to fight over is not good.jmho

And even a speyed bitch won't be unattractive to a male, I had two neutered males who started going for each other when I bought home a speyed bitch. Speyed bitches can seem as if they are permanently just about to come into season, which can still drive dogs nuts! :(
Hi Carrie
Hopefully this is a WUM and if it is not I hope s/he rethinks getting another Dobermann.
Even getting a bitch is dicey as it gives the males something to fight over, especially when she comes into season.
My posts in this thread are no doubt coming across as unfriendly and will give the complainers something else to complain about, but if the "guest" wants to go against all the advice given on this and other forums - which is given for a good reason - then you have to question what they really want the dogs for!

What is a WUM? Yes, I forgot about that aspect... the 2 males fighting over the female. She could talk to her breeder about that. I know a lot of people that have several Dobes, one that I think has two boys and two girls. (on a message board) And all seems well. But it could be risky. She could go ask them on that board, as there are some very knowledgeable, experienced Doberman people. Here's the site: http://www.network54.com/Forum/11341?it=0
My two males (Dobe and Chi mix)...both neutered definitely are not interested in my two girls that way. Maybe my Lab is just too much of an older woman and has lost that sex appeal and the little Chi girl is just too much of a prude. She wouln't go for that at all and lets them know if they're getting too fresh or familiar....like if Doberboy lies down, minding his own business and his foot just happens to come within a foot of her, she bitches at him. And Jose, the Chi mix just thinks of her as one of the boys and engages her in wrestling matches, quite wild.
Hi Carrie
WUM is Wind Up Merchant and yes i hope it is .
