Why oh why did Pedigree change the sales packs of their puppy food. It seems that we are now only able to buy this in packs of three assorted flavours. We never have success with anything other than Chicken and Rice and yet have to buy Original and Lamb in order to get the Chicken.

We currently have a seven week old litter and have weaned them with puppy porridge (wonderful) but lastweek indroduced meat. Within minutes they wolfed down the Chicken and Rice but take hours and hours over the others. Today I tried Original and after four hours of crying and somewhat hungry puppies gave to the bitch and gave them freshly cooked chicken which they loved.

I just don't know what to do .... they need puppy food for the vitamins and yet they refuse. My Cavaliers have never done well on dried diet so this is not an option. Any ideas welcomed. We have a store room with masses of tinned puppy food which the puppies won't eat.

Until I solve this I am going back a step to puppy porridge supplemented with fresh chicken.

Today I have tried Nature diet puppy food, fresh human minced turkey, they even made my day by refusing the Pedigree Chicken and Rice.

They have just eaten three scoops of puppy porridge ... spoon fed, are fighting madly around my feet as I type but seriously I would welcome any advice from anyone who has awkward eaters.

If you are only wanting the puppy food because of the vitamins you can easily add this separately!  If you buy vitamin supplements from the pharmacy/H & B you can make sure they are "natural" sourced instead of the synthetic ones put in dog food and these are more bio-available to the dog!

can you not buy the pouches of the puppy food seperately or is that just the adult one? Leo eats all 3 flavours so weve had no need to look......what about the cans? cant you buy them in chicken and rice? The breeder gave us a can originally but i switched to pouches just because i dont like having an open can lying around

You can buy chicken & rice in the tins, but he only comes with his 2 mates - lamb & rice and origional!
even when you bulk buy, the trays of 24 are all packed in 3's. One of each flavour. Crazy isn't it.

that seems silly, we buy those packs of 8 which have 2x chicken and rice 2x turkey and rice 2xbeef and rice and 2xlamb and rice. Our pup loves them all but it does seem silly as our old dog was really fussy with her food and with her we had to buy individual cans.
