Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / what do u think your dog gets up to when
- By Guest [gb] Date 05.05.04 11:26 UTC
Hi
Just a silly one... just thinking of my little one - who is currently on his own waiting for pet sitter to pick him up. He is only on own for a few hours... but i can't stop wondering what he is doing?
Usually when he is left it doesn't seem like he moves from his spot from the moement we leave him  - as his water isn't touched nor has he relieved himself... i feel like he is literally in him spot just looking at the door and waiting all that time for us to walk back in. Just makes me feel a little sad if that's the case...

Has anyone ever taped their dog when left... just interested to know exactly what they get up to!!???

Gus sleeps the majority of the time . There is always a big warm spot on the sofa when we return :)

Saffy is the same - as soon as we go out she goes to the top of the stairs and comes back down when we return!  She doesn't touch her food, kong or water at all (or wee!).  Even if our cats are in, she still comes down from upstairs when we return.  I hope she feels less lonely by sleeping when we are out :)

Meg always heads straight for my bed when i get ready to leave, and she is still there when i get back. Sometimes she does it when the rest of the family is here but i'm not. I think she likes her home comforts. (shes on my bed now!)

Mine stands up on the window frightening half the builders to death then when she's fed up tormenting them she gets on the settee

My 7 month old bully just wrecks the house, anything he can reach gets either chewed or ripped to bits, but funnily enough he is always soundo when i come home. And no he is not left for long periods, its almost like he is thinking there you shouldnt have left me!!!!

My 1 yaer old lab gets the rest of her breakfast out of her "Funny Bone" and when thats done she chews
her rawhide bone and goes to sleep in her basket - oh unless of course there is some cardboard boxes! Then she'll destroy them aswell.
If she accidently gets into the livingroom (of limits when alone), she'll destroy everything she can get her teeth into!

I've been told that when dogs make trouble its usually within the first hour they are left alone!

Spice usually sleeps on the settee where I normally sit! she knows she is not allowed up onto the furniture  :D
she also tries to find the t.v. controller  we have come back from short shopping trips to find the t.v on and it was definately turned off when we left! I don't think she is too bothered which channel she tunes into, but she has a preference for space programmes and anything involving footballs!
I do not believe anyone who says a dog cannot see or interpret t.v. programmes, when the pet prog.was on last weekend and the collie was in 'goal' saving the ball she was right up to the screen nose pressed hard against it and when the ball went off screen she was into the conservatory like a shot to find it!

I am not sure but the cigarette stubs and the used cocktail shaker make me vaguely suspicious...............................................

Lol @ tohme :-D

Millie just sleeps in the one single spot.  I've tried setting up the video camera to watch, but so far I can't find a place to put it where its low enough to capture her and high enough to be out of the way of her teeth...
