Jazz as much as i love him is driving me nuts at the minute with barking. He is usually so good and is happy to potter around the garden or lay at the gate and watch the world go by when i am busy. The past couple of weeks though he barks at nearly everyone that goes past. Has anyone got any ideas why he may be doing this and how i can stop him. Its getting a bit tedious shouting "Jazz shut up" every five minutes. I need some help here please.
Michelle :)
other than using a citronella spray antibark collar i have no suggestions, Tess also does this our side gate is solid but she listens if she hears someone talking then she starts barking she also barks at dogs whose collars jingle when they go past, we usually resort to 'shut-up tess' or 'in now' :D

Now my dogs ahve free access to the garden (and maybe summer is on it's way) I've had to remind them of the 'no barking in the garden rule' that we have - it gets forgotten during the winter you see....... As soon as I see the tail go up and they go bounding towards the fence I call them in an excited tone, ask them to sit, reward them and turn them away again, by which time they've hopefully forgotten what they were barking at (if not we repeat it!) It took maybe a dozen repititions before they got the message - it may take a few more if your dog has well and truely got the habit ;)
