I am ment to have 20 and am only just having 15-17 a day , she said to up my intake by having treats and larger meals.. I though i was trying to eat less to loose weight ...any tips from anyone who has done this points plan

hi inca , i do weight watchers , and i thought i was being clever only having 16 points a day and to be honest it did'nt work, she told me the same as u ! so i made up my extra points in fruit and veg (which IMO should not have to be pointed) they r healthy foods after all   :(   someone on here ages ago told me little and often so i combined the 2  :)  3points brecki,6 points lunch,6 points evening meal, and 4 points to pick on (satsumer's for me) mand x

I did weight watchers a couple of years ago and lost about 2 stone, I then gave up smoking and put it all back on again  im on the kelloggs diet now !!  You do have to eat to lose weight though so eat all your points or carry a couple over to save up for a night on the town :D :D

hi all
I joined last thurs and was told by the leader to have 4 points less than the amount recommended for my weight.i have spoke to several people who say this isn't right, so have been having the full amount!!have found the diet ok though, its quite flexible really.gonna get weighed tonight at the gym...yikes:)

Hi candie,

I joined WW but only managed to go for 3 weeks as I work shifts. My leader also told me I could go 4 points less BUT that's only for the 1st week, sort of a kick start. After that you must go to your points. I really like it though as it's so flexible, being able to carry points over. I've lost 1 st 8 lb now and the last few weeks I haven't even been following it properly. I've been more careful about what I eat but haven't been using my tracker every day. Must get back on track again!

Good luck and hope it works for you :-)

Have any of you weight watchers people done the slimming world diet, and if so how would you say they compare?
- By Brainless [gb] Date 04.05.04 12:39 UTC
People at WW who have done both say that WW fits better with nornmal living and is more flexible.  As the aim is to change the way we eat, as well as loosing weight then I think that ww is more likely to work longterm.

But only going on heresay. :D

I don't do hungry and small portions very well, and over last nine weeks have found by being clever with low or no point options I can have a real plateful, and still lose weight, 30 and a 1/2 pounds so far.  As I have a lot to loose this is important to me, as if I am not hungry then I am more likely to stick it out.

I have found that I ha cur some things out5 totally, as I can't justify the points expenditure.

have had no chocolate Bars, (use the muslibars which have 1/3rd the points) have stopped uswing any spread for bread, and fillign my sandwhiches with tomatoe lettuce and cucumber.  Cheese is just too high in Points, but will use a cheese tr4iangle or Quark, or Cottahge cheese.  Eating lots of Turkey.

Use an Egg in Sandwhiches, and mash with waistkline salad dressing and losts of salad veg for sandwhich.

Baked Beans on toast oir with jacket Potatoe is filling and low in Points.

I make up an Omlete with two eggs and tomatoe muchroom and peppers and do in Microwave and accompany with a large Salad with Viniagrete fat free Dressing (no points).

I can't bear skimmed milk, and use semi.  I do buy fat free yogurts, Lidl do nice ones that are very fruity and don't taste of sacharine.

A pig out tip.  Mwske up sugar free jelly up to 3/4 pint mark and whisk in the Yogurt.  Let it set, and you have a whole pint of comfort food for just the point in the yogurt.

The meatings help you swap low point eating ideas.  It is amazing how full you can feel by making good choices.

If you like chinese the gbest two main courses from takeaways are Chicken and Mushroom, and chicken with Pineapple.  Only 3 points each.  The plain boiled rice is 6.5, but you can always have just half the rice, though even with all the rice it is 9.5 points as compared to a meat pie which is an average of 11!!!!

Can you give me a link to join?  Is it sepearate to Esource, as I will be blowed if I will pay to go on, as I think the weekly fee quite enough to fork out :D
- By inca [gb] Date 05.05.04 08:33 UTC
so glad i started this thread now .....some great idea's coming through ...i though it was jst me thinking that it was a lot of money every week to dish out.... i have been good this week so far and having my full 20 points I have been reading up on quickstart but it's only 18points and i was told off last week for not having enough......can't win really i only got a stone to loose and think its gona cost me a fortune :)

I went to weight watchers in the past, but started to grudge paying the £4.75 weekly so i started a little club with some friends, we all get weighed every week and put the money £1.50 in a tin, when someone reaches target weight they get the money :-D  seems to be working i lost 6lbs this week :-D
- By candie [gb] Date 05.05.04 15:45 UTC
Yipee!Got weighed and i've lost 7lbs in a week, can't believe it!!Brainless it is £15 for 3 months for the esource thing with all the forums and points claculators etc, its brill though for advice and support but you need a number from your leader to activate it!!

I have tried most diets and sorry to say to you ladies who are doing so well on weight watchers :) ;) I cant do this diet at all, I was always hungry.  I go to slimming world every week and find this works alot better for me.  I say though whatever works best for you my friend has been doing weight watchers for just over a yr and has lost a massive 8 and a half stone, so shes proof it works for some people.  Keep up the good work ladies.

Michelle :)
