My bitch was mated for the first time three weeks ago today (Sat).  She has been very loving ever since and has been quite demanding of cuddles and attention which is unlike her.

On close inspection tonight one of her nipples is bright pink.  It doesn't look infected and there is nothing untoward about anything else.  I have been looking for signs and although her teats do look larger, this could be wishful thinking.  What isn't wishful thinking is one bright pink nipple amongst some pale pink ones, some black ones and some multicolour ones! - 13 in all, some look more functional than others!

Is this the good sign I am looking for?

sorry im not much use, but 13 nipples!! wow, my girl has ten, which turned out just right as she had 10 babies!! glad she stopped there, or we wouldve ran out of room at the milkbar!!!!!!

holly's did change colour but not until well into her 4th week, hence we had a scan done to confirm,

you should noyice a discarge first. my girl showed all the signs but her scan at 35 days showed nothing :( good luck anyway.

The first thing that I usually notice is the nipple going pink and hard!  My girls 6 weeks gone now and absolutely massive.

My girl is also 3 weeks and her nipples have gone pink and swollen, i think its easier to tell on a bitches 1st litter, she has also gone into a big softie and off her food. The only things i can get her to eat are fresh chicken, pasta and fish so very expensive girl at the moment. Good luck with your girl...

my bitch has black nipples and when they started going pink i new she was with pup :)

Thanks Natalie, I've got that link, it's great isn't it?  It reminds me of my own pregnancy and the book I used to have.  I waited with baited breath to be as far along as the next picture!

If I am very much mistaken, two nipples are pink today!  Hers seem to be multicoloured anyway with some pink, some black, etc.  I shall wait for the black ones to change.

We've just been for a walk and Teal went into the water trough in the field.  When she came out, through the wet fur all you can see are these most enormous pendulous pink nipples!!  There is no mistaking their pink roundedness!  Yipee!!!! :-)
