did anyone see the Gordon Ramsey thing last week? I couldn't believe the horrible rude ,untrained, unwashed-looking plonker that was claiming to be a top chef, because he wanted to be a tell-chef!! Any house-wife/home-maker could have done better in her/his  sleep...it was really unbelievable, and that silly owner who hadn't even been in her kitchen to check the fridges, etc and who was walking around in her slippers with last week's make-up on was just as pathetic....makes you wonder what really goes on in these expensive restaurant....also unbelievable, I quite liked Gordon by the end...:)

I never fancied watching that programme to be honest but OH wanted to see it - I was amazed as well at the "head chef". The restaurant was a bit strange as they played bingo etc and had cabaret but he was trying to serve scallops etc - totally the wrong clientale
and all the off food in the fridges. if i had a business like that Id make sure i knew exactly what was going on there
and when he went back a few weeks later it was exactly the same as before :(

very watchable programme though- and he didnt beat around the bush either

I watched it too with growing horror at just how bad that so-called head chef was!  Gordon's language is ripe, but he obviously cares very deeply about standards and serving up decent food - I too found myself strangely warming to him as the programme went on and will certainly be watching the rest of the series :D  The cabaret was bizarre; that would have put me off eating there as much as the rancid scallops and the grotty standards in the kitchen

you will have to watch the one this week as he comes to blows with the manager of the place he goes to this week, he was on richard and judy and said he could not belive the things that where going on in kitchens, makes you wonder what the chefs are like when we go our to places.

exactly..... but fancy the so called head chef pretending to listen to all the obvious commonsense and then completely ignoring it a few weeks later...strange folk.....looking forward with great excitement to the next episode( how sad am I???)

But the chef was in the paper this week saying he wanted to get into telly presenting. It scares you doesn't it making you wonder what goes on.

Don't know about him presenting on TV   But they could certainly do a one off special with him with Aggie and Whatsername called "How Clean is Your Kitchen" ;)

Excellent idea LF :-) 'How clean is your restauraunt' went through the back door of a hotel in Truro by mistake once and saw unmentionable horrors! :-P Our terrific threesome would have had a field day there!
