Hi Guys, Are either of you on Freeserve Broadband? Only I had a nasty shock in the post this morning . Until a couple of weeks ago I was on Freeserve 'Anytime' @ £14:99 per month minding my own business when a cold caller offered me an upgrade to 10x faster broadband for £19:99 per month for one year. I changed and was pleased with the faster speed and telephone working at same time, then this morning a Wanadoo info thing came stating 512k Broadband is now £17:99 a month so I went to the site to check it out ..www.wanadoo.co.uk/broadbandaccess and found a nasty little list of restrictions on time usage and other things they intend to implement later on in the year..not sure quite what is going on so will contact them to check. No mention of restrictions or £17:99 when I signed up a couple of weeks ago.Mmm....... :-(
Me too, We are on the 512 Freeserve broadband at £27.99. The new information on Wanadoo is that they are going to offer 512kpbs broadband at £17.99 a month, and the £27.99 package is going to become 512plus - however there are still going to be a load of restrictions.
I'm not having that! I shall be contacting Wanadoo too, to find out the exact situation and I shall be making the move very shortly to another provider!!

Just got through to Freeserve/Wanadoo after much pressing of buttons and tacky sudo geisha music and a long wait!! My situation is this, of the three options listed as available on the already mentioned site I will be receiving the middle option when it comes to restrictions (called 512k+ ) but for £19:99 a month. The restrictions in this group are not too bad but it is the principal..I have only had BB since 11th April (on line connection 10 days ago) and they are already changing what I can or can't do . It does say in the terms and conditions they can 'change them at any time' but it does show to beware because what you think you are getting may not stay the same for long.

Broadband? We should be so lucky - but thanks for the warning. When (If!) we ever get broadband, I'll be looking out for restrictions - I don't want 'em!
I have since discovered that with 512 (£19.99) you get 8 hours of surfing a day and with 512+ (£27.99) you only get 15 hours a day. What a cheek! You can also only have 14 hours per week of online gaming (OH was unconscious for 3 hours after I told him this) and there are restrictings on the amount of emails you can send, emails with attachments.
Even if you go up to 1mb (£34.99), although you then get 24 hour surfing, there are still restrictions on the emails, downloading, videos etc and only 28 hours per week of online gaming.
I'm giving them my notice to be disconnected (and an email has been sent to Watchdog!). I've had Freeserve Broadband without restrictions for 2 years, I'm not going to settle for a lesser service for the same or even more money! There's too much choice out there at better prices than the big-name companies. Bulldog Adsl here I come!

we have ntl broadband its 17.99 but we have no restrictions on it at all although its not the fastest we can get its fine for our house

We've got Blueyonder (Telewest) and it's £25 for 512 with 24 hour connection and there are no restrictions at all. They are also upgrading it by 50% this month with no change in price, so we'll have a 750 connection for £25, which seems good value :)

We are also with Telewest, we have been upgraded free of charge and have 24 hour no restriction connection. No complaints from me. :)
