I have 5 year old labrador and this week got a new 7 and half week lab pup, and our it is safe to say that our older lab as upped is daily quota of barking. i.e. - if the pup gets hold of 1 of his toys he will bark, if they r playing he barks, if he nips 1 of us he barks. And the last day or so the older ones voice as became quite hoarse, am i right to assume that this is due to him barking more in the last week than he has done in the last 5 years!!!

Phill

P. S he is showing no other signs of illness, also is there anything we can do to help him get his bark back

P.P.S he has bonded well with the pup as the pup listens more to him than us :-(
