hello i have been very busy researching my chosen breed, the curly, i have been on many different sites, some have said the curly needs lots of exercise other say 40-60 mins, would a curly be happy with an hours off lead running and swimming, retrieving a day??
i have found my breeder, so these are last questions now, im looking forward to welcoming a lilttle liver boy next year - quite long waiting list!! :(
many thanks
Jess

As one of the two original British retrievers (The other being the Flatcoated Retriever) unfortunately the Curly Coated Retriever has fallen out of favour on the shooting field and very few are worked these days. They are possibly not the easiest of the retrievers to train because of this. In my (Limited) experience they need, but possibly don't want quite as much exercise as some of the retrieving breeds. I would have said that an hour a day (once full grown) would be plenty.

thanks john, i understand they are not as easy as a lab, but they are not as hard as say a hound, so i think i could handel them, plus wanted a big doggy!
many thanks
anyone own or breed them?
