This is a recall enquiry :D

Spice, border collie, aged 6months,seems to get distracted by one particular type of dog on her off lead walks,Labs. she has no preference for male or female, any lab.will do.

So until we meet and successfully recall her from all distractions, especially labs. :D I am going to invest in a long lead! the question now is how long is a long lead,we have many leads including a retractable one, which I hate,as I seem to release it instead of locking it off.
So I am prepared to invest in yet another lead, rope, bungee cord whatever it takes to perfect this recall .

I don't particuarly want to end up tied around several trees or worse still, other peoples legs  so any advice on the best type and length of training lead would be so much appreciated :)
Jacqueline (who has tried every trick in the book to make herself more interesting than all those labs. but has failed miserably today )

I just use an old lunge line I had for my horses. I think it's about 30 feet. But you can use anything. Go to the hardware store and get some soft, thin, cotton (easier on the hands) rope and stick a clasp on the end. You can make it as long as you want. The nylon or polyethylene (?) might not tangle up as much...not sure.
