I HAVE TWO CAVALIER KING CHARLES DOGS A MALE AND FEMALE,I HAVE RECENTLY BOUGHT A RABBIT,THE MALE IS FINE WITH THE RABBIT BUT THE FEMALE BECOMES A BIT AGGRESIVE AND SHIVERS WHEN SHE SEES IT IN THE CAGE OR IF ANY ONE HOLDS OR CLAPS IT,I CANT LET THE RABBIT OUT WHEN MY FEMALE DOG IS ABOUT ,BUT MY MALE DOG IS FINE AND JUST SNIFFS THE RABBIT THEN LOSES INTEREST,BUT I CANT LET MY FEMALE DOG NEAR THE RABBIT AS I THINK SHE MIGHT ATTACK OR BITE THE RABBIT.ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO TACKLE THIS WILL SHE EVER GET ON WITH MY RABBIT AND HOW DO YOU GO ABOUT DOING IT,AS I WOULD LOVE FOR THEM ALL TO GET ALONG.

The rabbit is a natural prey animal for the dog. If the rabbit had been there when the pups first came they may have been ok but I don't think it is fair on the rabbit to try and bring them together now and would suggest you keep the rabbit out of the way because as far as your bitch is concerned it's dinner.

Where I use to live, at that time, I only had my Lab and she didn't get along with rabbits either. There were lots of wild ones and she would hunt them, bring them home dead and deposit them on the lawn. Sometimes she ate them and still deposited them on the lawn. We had a game called, Name that Carcass. (She hunted other things too)
