Has anybody had an old dog with this?  What were the symptoms?

Grateful for any advice.

I would say if you have any doubts as I am sure the symptoms are the same, get her to the vets immediately as it is better to be safe than sorry with this:)

Hi,

Casting my memory back, my old girl (12 year old Rough Collie) had the closed variety of pyo - drinking huge amounts of water, panting and shivering I think.  I'd seen it before in another dog, so was 99% sure of what it was.

Was very worried about her being speyed at her age, but within a week she was livelier than she'd been for months, and we had her until she was 16.

My old girl Daisy had pyo last year it wasn't a totally closed one but she was very lucky and although slow to recover from her spaying I noticed a difference in her.
