HI, i was hoping someone out there could help me, i have 2 lhasa apsos that i would like to breed in the future, providing they pass the eye test, i was making enquires with the opthamoligist vet who said that i should wait until i was ready for breeding and then have them tested, which i will, but what i would like to know that if they do pass and i do breed from them, should there be any restrictions put on the pedigree if the pups in the future were to be used for breeding ie until testing has been done.any info i could get would be great even before i think of breeding from them. please don't think i don't know about breeding as i have done so in the past, but would like to know more about the lhasa.
any info would be a great help

My girl (cocker spaniel) has just been eye tested clear, stud dog is definitely clear too, but I will still be putting restrictions on the pups.  Restrictions can be lifted once the pups  have had the relevant health checks done by their new owners before breeding.

Hi Violet-anne,
i agree with sharon,i have bred and shown apso's for 10 year's and endorse all my pup's ,but will lift the ban when the pup reaches 2 and a copy of a clear eye certificate is received,to tell you the honest truth i did'nt endorse my first litter some years ago and a bitch i sold was matied at 7 month's ,thankfully was given a injection to stop the pregnancy just in case, but then went on to be mated on her second season, and whelped 6 pup's at 13 month's old,un beknown to me ,but through the grape vine i found out,so as from then all my pup's are endorsed ,including the male's

I am picking up my new Lhasa pup at the end of this month, I know that both the parents have both been eye tested the dam is a champion, is there anything that I should be sure of beside the eye's, The last Lhasa I had died 12 years ago and  I started with them in 1978, before going on to bigger Tibetan breeds
but such a lot has change since I had my last one. He had luxsating patellas is this still a problem to look out for
