Topic Dog Boards / General / New Zealand Huntaway?

Advert in Edinburgh Evening News for New Zealand Huntaway pups was intriguing, so I found em in google and now am even more confused. Breed is not KC recognised, can be either large or small and the picture shows a black n tan dog so similar to Marley the Xbreed down the road. Anybody met some? As they herd sheep with their voice, sounds one noisy dog..

I've seen them working cattle in New Zealand, very impressive. A working dog without a doubt and I mean working and using their brain.

if you do a search on huntaway I think you will find it has been discussed hear before.  A very successful WT who owned a WT Ch tried one of these............................................  not for very long; she says that he is extremely noisy!

There is one walked near us, needs loads of exercise and is pretty indifferent to other people and dogs, but seems biddable and has a good temperament
