There is an ad in my local paper for a litter of FIVE bulldog pups for FREE due to family illness ?
Am I just cynical or does it sound a bit "iffy" . They are supposed to be KC reg too
Even at a reduced price bulldogs would sell quickly - just wondering why they would rehome for free -
and also worried about WHAT types of home they would end up in :(

Only thing is, if it is a back yard breeder they would be selling them for extortinate amounts of money. Not for free, wouldnt they????????????
Doesnt make sense to me either Lel

i had one of my swim kids dad come up to me yesterday to say they have just bought a engish bull dog for  £1500,00,
near a place not far,but the owner of the puppies and mum said she would meet them at a place then take them to the place where the puppies were,i would not like to write on here what the place was like, but it was on a site, not a house,

this was the bitches 4 litter with on c section, and 10 puppies in the litter yes the pound sign just add up,

but my big worry is do ebd have big litter with out c section,or is the litter cross with some thing elis,

the same with the first post that started this.

Well, reputable breeders here anyway, don't advertise in the local paper. I don't know what's up with this, but I'd be cautious. Actually, I'd be more than cautious. I'd tend to stay clear. But that's just me.

I have mentioned it to the breed rescue and apparently they were already aware of it as someone else has already been in touch with them.
The problem with free dogs is that people who havent really put any thought into getting a pup or even a bulldog can be swayed by the fact its  freebie :( And if they need to rehome quickly I doubt they will bother with proper hoemchecks etc
Hopefully breed rescue will be able to help or at least offer advice :)
