May be on wrong thread but here goes I know its bad manners to be late for appointments but what do you think of people  who arrive hours early ? three times in the last week ive made appointments for people to come here and they have arrived very early so much so ive had to put off or cancel my other appointments to show them a dog (rescue) one couple were an hour early i had been rushing around trying to get stuff done called back at the house then had to change my plans is it just me or is it annoying.

It is just as annoying as coming late I think, if not worse.

I hate it when people are early for appointments and I think that anyone who assumes you will see them earlier simply because they have arrived earlier is equally bad mannered as those who are late. If you arrive early for an appointment, and are seen early, that is a bonus, but should not be expected.  In your case Mattie, I would not cancel other appointments, simply explain to the early people that you have other commitments and that unfortunately they will have to return/wait until the appointed time.  If they really want the dog, then they will understand.

Edited to add that sometimes, if travelling a distance it is hard to judge when you will arrive, but you still should understand others cannot just 'drop' everything.

I don't like it when people are too early for appointments either, I myself make sure I'm there in plenty of time but then either drive round or park up and go for a walk if im too early.

I am an early arriver as hate being late. I do however always apologise and say don't worry about seeing me until you are ready !

Do you not think that there is some excitment going on here as they are looking at a possible new dog to add to their family and so that is maybe part of the reason behind it ! :) They may not also know how much hard work you do and how busy you are ! I am sure if you explain to them and ask them to wait ! It is also a good way to see how serious they are as they will wait if they are !

early or late is both as bad I think it's those visitors that never want to go home that must be worst. my friend had someone come to see a puppy last year they arived on time 10am but left after they dropped loads of hints at 4pm !!!!!!!!

I went out the other day thinking had plenty of time till someone was coming for a dog when I got back they had already been ,left a message on the phone saying we went round the kennles and  looked at the dogs we like the little black bitch  !!!!! Ahhhhhh....
a)  the gate was locked so how did they get in ? and b) the little black Bitch was My Annie who I had popped in a kennel whilst out as she has discovered opening doors is fun and exploring the house.
The scare I had is what if these people had taken Annie.there is a big sign on the gate dogs running free do not enter report to the house etc...
People are so annoying

I hate it if people are both miles too early or late. I think if you've got dogs and you know people are coming it is a major operation to sort things out beforehand !. Some puppy people were due to come at 4p.m. to look at the pups - they turned up at 9.30a.m. - so that they could spend the rest of the day with us and the dogs !!!.
