as soon as the sun comes out, how you suddenly see dogs that you haven't seen before. Their owners decide it's a lovely day, so they'll take the fat, unfit dog out in the mid day sun to get stressed.

Have you been reading my mind - or bugging my conversations DawnR I said exactly the same as I passed the park today on the way back from my cars MOT. People and dogs I have never seen before. I'll be back to 6.30 walks again I think ;)

I saw a rather rotund JR walking (or rather ambling down the road) with such long claws (which clearly have not seen tarmac or a hard surface for sometime) panting. In all honesty he looked like he was going to fall over. In inch long grass it was tickling his rather large belly. To say I was a little discusted was an understatement.

Was going to say the same...everyones got their fat,ill looking dog out with claws that scrape along the pavement and coats that have never so much as seen a brush!!
I had the oppsite today...took the dogs up the park...usually over run with poeple and dogs but it was raining so it was completely empty apart from us...WONDERFUL!!

That irritates me as much as the sun thing. If it rains so what...your dog still needs exercise! I go out rain, shine, hail, snow, winds! my dog is in a routine and it is unfair not to take him because i am scared of getting a bit wet! He wears his little coat...well ok...big coat when it's really cold and snowy but otherwise he loves it!

The best days to walk my dogs are rainy days as there is no one else about! It does'nt really matter that they get filthy, wet and then the car stinks of wet dogs for a few days after! At least we have peace and quite out walking!

Yup it's one of the best times to walk and the dogs have more fun in the rain getting muddy and wet.

Don't know about the dogs but I love the rain!! The boys seem to get used to it..once they're wet its a case of who cares!!
My favourite bit is when I get home and the elks 'dry' themselves on the carpet!!

My favourtie bit is when my labs head is wet and it sends him loops and he rubs his head on the bottom of the sofa! and then bombs it round and does head stands on the carpet!

same for me, as soon as we drop the kids off at school me and hubby take our 2 to a great park that has a woodland walk, the dogs love it u see the usual people most days and get to know them in the passing :-) which is always great, but low and behold on Saturday when the kids were with us we took the dogs to the park and OMG its amazing what a wee bit of sunshine does, there may be be a doz or so of the usual dog owners but on this day there was more than double that!! and i agree my fav type of day is the rainy 1's as you do get a moe peaceful walk and Kira LOVES PUDDLES !!!! LOL the muckier the better and who am i to get in the way of a happy pair of doggies lol.
Michelle
actually thats very true the last few days there have been double the number of dogs in the park

I do the same...I go to bed at 6.30 am and then get up at 8 to take the kids ti school.Bundle everyone,4 legged and 2 legged,in the car...drop kids off and go 'walkies'.Its hard to get motivated after 1 1/2 hours sleep but when I get there I absolutely love it and we end up going further than we intended LOL.
We all then go home for a few hours kip.....bliss

Walking in the rain ,love it my dogs not keen on it though, but hell i need my walk .We have a few walks where only the harderned dog walkers will go up in the hills deep in the dunes but come summer the dog beach is a big no no.lots of "sunday walkers".The worst have got to be the ones who stay in there car while there dogs exercise themselves no poo bags necessary there then.
