Topic Dog Boards / Showing / companion shows

I'm having withdrawal symptoms already as I'm not showing next weekend, so to ease the pain a little, does anyone know of any companion dog shows this Sunday 25th?  Preferably in the East Midlands area.  (I've already looked on the KC website)
thank you - sarah

Hi,

No, not too old at all.  Although a lot of people do start training at a very young age, I'm sure that 15 months is hardly old - not like teaching an old dog new tricks.  It may take a little while to get him to stand as opposed to sitting, but with practice I'm sure it can be done.   You firstly need to find a local ringcraft class.  Companion shows are a good idea which you can enter on the day - just make sure you're not first, so you can watch what other people do before you go on.  (On another subject about older dogs, I didn't start agility training with one of my beags until she was 4 years old and she picked it up really quickly - probably because she was a little bit older and more obedient).
Good luck!

The only thing that would stop you showing is if your dog was not KC registered.(the only show you could then do is exemption shows)
Otherwise ,go to ring craft, try to go and watch some rotties at shows and give it a go.
