Barney (7 month old lhasa apso) had his first haircut today and he changed colour so much after losing his long baby hair that I had to look at him twice to make sure it was him!! He was hanging his head cos I dont think he knew what had happened so I couldnt see his face straight away LOL. He is still moping around really fed up cos he hated the car journey too. I dont know ...... kids!!! :D

Hi Gina,
Glad to see you back on the boards. I'm sure Barney looks smashing with his new haircut, but it'll probably take him a day or two to get used to it! Tilly could do with a haircut too even though she's younger than Barney. What colour has he ended up as?

Hi Sharon. He is now white, gold and light brown. His legs are sort of creamy and gold. His back is white, gold and light brown with just the very tips of his fur being dark brown. His ears are gold and then go down to very dark brown and, all in all, he looks brilliant. Does Tilly have long eyelashes? Barneys are creamy coloured over his brown eyes. Gorgeous. He looks like an angel until he goes in the garden. Tonight every time I planted a plant he pulled it out again and legged it with the plant and he keeps burying his toys in any holes when I turn my back. He wont be clean for much longer. I did have a shock when I first saw him I can tell you. :o

Patricia/Sharon. The groomer was recommended by two different people who use it and is in Ewell Village not too far away from us and you can see them actually grooming the dogs so I felt quite safe sending him there. Dont think he felt the same about them though LOL. Dont know if it was the homeopathic tablet for car sickness or the grooming (he hates baths) but he wouldnt eat for nearly 24 hours but he is now back to normal. Thank you Marie you were right as usual lol :D

Gina, Barney sounds lovely and yes, Tilly does have very long eyelashes - not that you can see them, as she has very long hair! I don't really want to have her clipped at the moment. I'm brushing her daily and I'd like to see just how long her coat can get! She is a sort of blackish colour, with golden bits on the tips (difficult to explain, this!) and her undercoat is much lighter.
A word of warning about flower bulbs - Tilly dug up and was chewing on one and afterwards she was very sick. Some of them are poisonous.

Hi there. I am such a worrier that Barney isnt allowed in the garden on his own and I think for safety's sake that every plant might harm him so am extra careful. I was planting some little pinks that had already grown (in fact most of the plants are "plant size" (lazy gardener LOL) and he was running off with the whole plant intact and thought it was a good game just to nick them. Now they are in the ground and he knows they are there it is not a game any more so he leaves everything alone ... well not really he just runs over and tramples them all !!! Oh well just as well I am laid back about the garden!! He pees on the grass now sometimes instead of his usual place on the side of our large patio but that is better than indoors and can easily be hosed down! Regards Gina

Sharon

Tilly is a girl and should have long hair LOL. We wanted a lhasa but always intended him to have a "teddy bear" haircut and not long haired as we wont be showing him. I wouldnt have him cut very short but he is just right and the groomers did a good job. He is quite curly haired and not straight which apparently is what the fur looks like under the long coat as they have two "coats". His short coat is much softer and downier than his long hair. I would love to see a pic of Tilly but cant reciprocate because although we have loads of photos I dont know how to put them on the computer!! (I could post some to you LOL). I know what you mean about the tips cos that is what I was trying to explain about the "ends" of Barney's fur being darker. Regards Gina

All your babies sound beautiful I wish I could see them!
I love the stories about them too, I imagine these cute little hairy pups running through the garden causing havoc, what fun!

If you have a scanner then you scan, then save the picture, but try to save it smallish. when you want to add a picture to an email, you just click the attaach option on the email, then choose the file (picture to attach), and send!

I think I have a scanner built in with the printer but when I tried to use it it wouldnt take a photo. I thought I might have to buy something else but as I am a bit thick with computers wasnt sure what I was doing so didnt bother. I will look into it again later. I have a programme on the computer called .... Adobe Acrobat.. not sure is that is anything to do with scanning? gina
