I have always wanted a dog, and now in my mid 30's and settled with partner/home I feel the time is right.

We both work but would be home for 40 mins at lunch and intend to get a dog walker as well to visit in the day. It would be left for max 3 hours at a time.

I really do want a dog and cant see our position changing until we are 65?

Is it reasonable to get a dog in these circumstances, and are any breeds more suitable?
