Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / separation anxiety in parson russell

We have had Gyspy since the 4th april, she came from a breeder where there were several other parsons, and a couple of other dogs and two children, she has stopped crying at night when she goes in her crate, but she still cries when we both go to work. My husband is at home some of the time and she does not get left for long, we have stopped leaving her in the crate (which has a DAP Diffuser behind it) she has the radio on, a kong, some chews, a comfy mat to sleep on and water. She sleeps beautifully if we are in the house and getting on with chores etc.  I am hoping she will stop when she realises we do come back again. How long does it take a dog to get used to a new environment? Also We are due to go to a wedding in wales and stay for two nights, would it be best to leave her in the house, and get a friend to stay? or disrupt her further by taking her to my mothers or mother in-laws to stay with them. I dont really want to take her to a hotel because she would get left far too long in a strange place. It has been a big change for her and I dont want her to get too distressed with more changes. There are just the two of us and I think she misses her kennel mates. She is 4 and unspayed.
