My bitch is in welp and is due around the 16th may so only a few weeks left.  Im not worried but was just interested, when reading a lot of the post on here alot of people go on about how there bitch goes off there food.  My bitch never had a big appitite and has never been greedy but this last week she has gone twice the size and is eating like a horse, i am keeping up the exercise with her but it is starting to get a little to warm so i am going to start to cut it down to maybe just lead walking her around the streets.  She has got bigger suddenly and although i have been jogging with her she doesnt want to come away from a gentle trot.  Am i doing the right thing, also what sort of time in the preg.  do i start to get her used to her welping box, at present she is in the shed at night with my other dog who is caged, she has never shown any sign to want to sleep on her own, So how will i know when to bring him away from her without her getting distressed.

All bitches are different regarding their appetite - far less worrying that she eats like a horse than picks at food! When exercising, just give her what she wants, don't force her to go further or faster than she wants. Bitches know how much exertion they can take. Can you not just give her some free running so she can stop when she's had enough? I would start getting her used to being in her whelping bed now. The sooner she gets used to it, the better she'll settle to it when she actually starts whelping. She may not show any signs of wanting to be on her own until it's too late!
