Hi, please can any one give me some advice. I have a 5 month old Lab pup who normally is slobbering at the mouth at meal times. Since his last meal on Weds night he hasn't been eating. I've been putting down his meals for him, sometimes he will poke about with it and sometimes he won't even look at it. His poo has gone pale in colour and it almost looks like it's got sand in it, also it looks like he may have a small amout of blood in it. He's not off colour and he's still bouncing around like a mad thing, but do you think I should take him to the vet? I haven't changed what I'm feeding and he hasn't eaten anything he shouldn't of (that I know of) but I've been keeping a close eye on him over the last couple of days. I would be very grateful for any advice.
Thanks
Fluffyfleabag.

Hi,  I would be concerned that he may have a blockage, Labs are amazing at devouring such things as socks without us knowing. Labs live to eat, that's what they think they're here for.
I would insist that your vet x-rays :)

A Labrador not eating! Are you sure he's not died?

Sorry guest but I could not risist that. Having owned Labs for very many years I would get him to the vet straight away just as Tcarlaidh says. He may not be off colour but they are a very stoic breed and it takes so much to get them down. We always have to look for the little signs with them. So many times I've taken a dog to my vet because she "appears vaguely wrong". My vet has seen my dogs so many times over the years now that he has got use to accepting my word for the fact that the Labrador bouncing about with a grin on her face and a wagging tail really is ill.

Best wishes, John
