Really pleased with my little pup and wanted to tell everyone. She went to her first Open Show yesterday and got Best Puppy In Breed, Pastoral Puppy Group 2 and 2nd in Puppy Stakes!!!!!!!! I have never shown before so am thrilled to bits. Just wanted to share this as it made my day.

Oh well done, was it under different judges, if so, double well done. See you in a couple of weeks when you get of that cloud. Jackie H
Hi and thanks for all your good wishes. Yes, Jackie H it was under 3 different judges all of whom were really nice and took on board that I was a nervous wreck!!!
The breed judge noticed that her mouth is not quite right yet and her teeth are still moving about. He nicely pointed it out and I said I was aware of it and he told me to ''go off and have some fun with her at Open Shows'' and see how it went. He really put me at ease. If I decide to do some more Open Shows, I hope I am lucky and get some more easy going judges. When you are first starting out, I think having a good judge makes all the difference.

3 different judges that is very good, your pup must look promising. You will find that judges, being human, well most of them, differ like the rest of us, but most will be kind with puppies and you would be unfortunate to find one of the rare ones who is heavy handed with babies. However if you are unhappy with the way a judge is handling the youngsters don't be afraid to ask to withdraw your pup and if asked why, say why. I know having gone to the trouble to go to a show it is upsetting not to show the pup but better that than have it upset.
Not wishing to put the damper on things but be prepared for the day when you get sent to the end of the line or worse out of the ring with no award, it will happen, it does to all of us, I hope it is not for some weeks yet. I always tell my dog it's not their fault the judge doesn't know what they are doing, then forget it and look forward to the next show where hopefully the judge will recognise how wonderfull my dog really is :) Jackie H

Congratulations,
I had my first show on the weekend, isn't it nerve racking..
I haven't been so scared in my life. It didn't help that I wore a red suit and as I entered the ring my family started to sing 'santa claus is coming to town'. At one point, whilst running around the ring, I looked down to see that Kiera had slipped her lead and was still happily trotting by my side. Showing dogs certainly seems to be great fun.
