I am looking for a pair of Black Pugs with a long line of Black bred Champions. I am from Canada and will consider a co-ownership if necessary. The black pugs in this area have become leggy, lean, and not good conformaition. I want a tight double curl on the tail, a nice square build, grauantee of no hip displacia, a vetinary certificate, a dog that will show a Champion. I plan on Championing these dogs and I want a well bred line. Any response should contain photos of both the male and female parents with a full pedigree for at least 4 generations of Champions. These dogs will have an excellent home, with loving people to keep them happy. My goal is to bring back the excellent quality of pug that I used to breed in the '70's. I went looking for a black pug and could not find the quality that I wanted in Canada or the US. Please only respond if you can fit these qualifications. email me at millarmacquarrie@pei.sympatico.ca or phone 1-902-894-9586 Thanks in advance for any response.

Hi Gail, I am afraid you will have considerable difficulty in finding a Black Pug who fulfills your requirments in the UK, let alone one which is for sale! We have a very different system for finishing our Champions over here, and so far fewer gain their titles. Among those Pugs who do become Champions the Blacks are very few and far between, therefore a solid line of black Champions would be almost impossible. I can put you in touch with 2 people in the UK who consistently breed quality blacks from Ch. lines, but if and when either will have pups available, and if they will consider exporting, I do not know.
