Hi wonder if any of you can help.  My partners mother has a 5 year old miniture daschund who had awful teeth.  She has no front ones left and the back ones are brown.  Her breath stinks and it's generally not very nice.  They can't afford to take her to the vets (I know I know it's not fair on the dog, I'd take her myself if I could but we barely speak cos she does'nt like me.) Anyway is there anything I can give to my partner to give to her to try on the dog because I'd hate to see her lose all her teeth which I think will happen in a few months.  Thanks

Fragaria, available from Dorwest Herbs will dissolve tartar however the smell suggests that the gums are infected in which case the dog does require dental attention and help.

Thanks for the quick reply tohme, it breaks my heart and I really can't see it getting any better.  She can't take anything to eat except soft food, and I honestly believe this dog will never see the vet :( I feel very bad because I should have maybe done something when we were on speaking terms.  At least it has made me very conscious of my own dogs teeth and they will have regular dental check ups.

Can you not get assisted help from the PDSA or RSPCA?

Unfortunately these people are very proud and would never listen to me as they believe they are doing nothing wrong.  I will ask my partner to mention to them they may listen to him but only if they think it hasn't come from me...if that makes sense.  I would happily take her and pay for the treatment myself but some people just won't be helped I;m afraid. :(
