Topic Dog Boards / Health / Hip Scoring in Scotland
- By Alli [gb] Date 20.04.04 19:32 UTC
Hi All

We are intending on getting our Gordon girl hip Scored soon and have spoken to our vet, however he does not do many x-rays for this and I was wondering if anyone knew of a vet who was more experienced in West Central Scotland.

Thanks for the help

Alli

Hi Alli,

I hope you can find someone, I live in Scotland too and I'm travelling to England to recommended vets to get a good plate done.

are you seeing mark lingard? he is really good will use a sedative instead of anaesthetic plus he is a pannelist so can give you a good idea what the score will be he is near preston

Hi Christine

It looks like we might need to go down south to get a good plate done also, but I'd rather go that wee bit further to get someone more experienced than our own vets to do it. My vet was actually really good and said that it was something he didn't do much of which we really appreciated as it could really affect the scores we get back.

Hope all goes well with your plates

Thanks again

Hi Alli, not sure where in scotland you are, but my vet in Lockerbie is excellent, they have a medium sized practise and also have a excellent small animal vet who joined them last year, she has done all my plates (dogs that is) although I do have to go to England for eye testing. If you want details PM me.
