Hi Gina
The basic answer is yes. However, I would not give a dog aspirin for growing pains without a vet opinion that it was growing pains and I would check with the vet as to how much and how often the dog should be given it. Also, it is best to give the coated variety of aspirin, if your vet agrees that it is a suitable treatment.
Hope this helps,
Lesley
Be very careful of diagnosing your dog with "growing pains", there is often an underlying cause, whether it be a sprain or strain, panosteitis (something Vets can diagnose and your dog will grow out of, so kind of a formal growing pain) or something more sinister, my 6 month pup has just been diagnosed with bad Elbow Dysplasia, after intermittent lameness for the last 2 or 3 months, apparently it is very common for dogs to be misdiagnosed in many conditions due to Vets - or people not getting their dogs examined - because it is assumed they "just" have growing pains
Hope your dog is okay (not trying to scare you, just wouldn't want anyone else to go through what we are dealing with)
Hayley
There is no such thing as "growing pains" - there are various conditions that cause pain whilst growing though :)
You should consult your vet to rule out anything serious and follow his advice on whether to give asprin - some dogs, like some people should not take asprin due to its anti clotting factors
