is it ok to give dogs?
obviously not in large portions, but just a little bit every now and then.

Well im definitely not an expert but my dogs used 2 lick it off the floor when i dropped it and my puppy licks it off my fingers and its never done them any harm - I wouldnt give them too much though because of the amount of sugar

We have always given our dogs the end off the cone with a little ice-cream,just as we did with our two boys when they were small :D and they love it!

As John will tell you, my lovely Lucinda loved icecream, and at shows and events we attended she would see an ice cream stall or van and join the queue, slowly shuffling forward until it was her turn to be at the front of the queue. She would then stand on her hind legs and wait for an icecream. As we did not stand in the queue to try to stop her doing this, we often heard the vendor say, "Is this your dog?" to people in the queue Then when they discovered that she was on her own and had shuffled forward until it was her turn to be served, they would reward her by giving her an ice cream. It never did her any harm, not so much as a dodgy tummy!

My lot love ice cream. Years ago, at our local County Show, whilst walking past a bunch of people sitting on a bank watching a display, Titch calmly took a small "swerve" sideways, taking a great big lick of a small childs ice cream on the way!  Much apologies, and money to kids mum for a replacemnt cone followed ;)  Mable got her photo in one of the local papers last year whilst licking an icecream at Wolsingham Show last year - dont know how well it went down with the rest of the dog show crowd, she was the only dog featured from the show!

Never had as much as an upset tummy from it, even when consumed in accidentally larger quantities than intended.

When the ice cream van comes to our street i buy Toby a small cone just for himself, he loves it and it has'nt done him any harm.

Ours are very adept at licking the last bit of a Magnum off the stick - one licks one side, then the other licks the other :D
