Enjoy it!  Have just finished a course with puppy school and my Border Collie loved it. I loved it as well, it was fun and the dog loved it and has learnt really well.  The biggest tip is good treats as well presuming it is reward based training.  Good luck, Claire

I agree good tips like liver cake or mature cheese is great ...just enjoy the time with your dog and other dog owners company if your pup is the worst behaved don't worry at least he will be having the most fun :)

Have fun. That's my best tip. I found that classes are the greatest for socializing the dogs. And you'll get some great tips. I didn't worry so much about the dog getting everything right. There's plenty of time for that. The most important thing is that you and your  dog have fun while training. I try to make it like a party every time I work with my dog, lots of treats, praise, play and affection.

I'm doing agility now and there's never a negative word. It's all for fun. If my dog doesn't do something right, we just do it again. It's all play and fun. I see a lot of people worrying about getting something right and they get frusterated which transfers to the dog. I guess I'm not that competitive about it, but we just have fun together.

Good luck!

Carrie

Hi Denise

How did your puppy class go?
Ours went great, we are much better behaved than i though, we tested our sit, down and come, all went very well. I (we) are looking forward to going back next week, it is amazing what you can learn just from watching the experts :-p
