With a breed such as this, in fact any breed, it is a mistake to attempt to buy ASAP. You need to do your research and check on the breeder and the breeders stock before you think of parting with any money.

Do you have experience of the breed, are you looking for a pet or to show? I would recommend you buy a book on the breed and do lots of research. What type/lines of bullmastiff do you like? perhaps you could go to some Shows and look at the dogs there. There is one on Sunday (WELKS) at Malvern, and the Birmingham Show at Stafford showground on May 9th. There will be quite a few Bullmastiffs entered at both, most of the big breeders will be there, you could have a chat with those whose dogs you like. However be prepared for a long wait for a decent pup as most good breeders have long waiting lists.

Most importantly please make sure that both the sire and dam of any pup has been hip scored, the average for the breed is 28 but ideally you should look for a score much lower (IMO anyway).
