Has anyone used this and they have good results, or bad. What was your alternative?

They stopped manufacturing it quite a while ago if it's what I think. (Pedigree advanced weaning food)
I think they stopped it when the company changed hands & they stopped the advance range.

When I went to the kennels that are the breeders Collection point for pedigree food they had some there, I have a litter that we are starting to wean and was just wondering if anyone has used it
- By Smudgley [gb] Date 18.04.04 20:15 UTC
We were told by pedigree it had been discontinued.
Maybe they've relaunched it.
I have seen lots of litters reared on it & they seem to do well on it.

They still do it.   Brilliant stuff, I've used it on a puppy as young as 2 weeks old.    They love it.   It's trying to wean them off of it thats the problem!  ;)

Edited to add: Someone show me how to do links...here is the link to the Puppy Porridge!

I checked the link & saw the porridge. It's not the same as the stuff I was talking about, (but probably very similar if the not the same in a different packaging) The one I know was from the pedigree advanced range (as opposed to pedigree) it was in big white tubs with a blue label & could be used on very young pups as a transition stage between milk & solids or to help boost small pups. It was discontinued along with the rest of the advanced range of products ~ which was sold to some other company.
thanks for the link.  :)
Edit to add ~ as it was from the premium range it was also a lot more expensive than this porridge. But my guess is, this stuff is the same but at a more reasonable price.

My last Litter (now 9 weeks old) was weaned using pedigree Puppy porridge - I bought it at Crufts this year and it was freely available so I don't think that it's been discontinued - it is brilliant and certainly gives the pups a good start. I gave it at 3 weeks as it was a large litter and all the pups have done well.

You can'y but it in the usual pet shops but have to go to their breeders distribution points or gget it at the big shows.

Hi this stuff is the same but in smaller containers 2 Kg rather than 3 Kg hence the lower price. :) Gillian

Hi,

My husband works for masterfoods and we can't track this down!! I have however found that Chudleys by Dodson and Horral (sorry can't spell) do a weaning mix, and I am off to collect it now and will let you all know what its like. (i won't eat it) but you know what I mean.

I went to my local breeder collection kennel and we got some, as there are 10 pups we wanted to take the heat off mum, Boy did the tuck in, I did not know that they could have it from 3 weeks, as I never start to wean litter's untill they are 3 weeks, they all loved it, bit messy, but they all lay and lick if off each other, but since mum has see us feeding them she now refuse's to go in with them and feed them,I did not know wether to get some litterlac to just top them up as mum has decided it is up to us.

It is still available from the Pedigree collection people and also at the Champshows where Pedigree have a stand.

I bought it last weekend , the packaging has been redone but it is still the same.

I used it very successfully on my litter , even the dam ate it.

I made a mistake said that they could only have it from 3 weeks I meant 2 weeks as it says on the instructions, but have never started to wean a litter that early
