We are getting a choc lab boy this friday and are calling him star (not my choice)

My boys called Anton.  Well actually nobody calls him that, when he was a puppy I called him my Ickle Man and unfortunately it's stuck the name Anton hardly ever gets used, so we sometimes shorten it to Icks.  Now he's becoming a man though we occasionally call him Sticky Man!!!!  :d   I know, I'm mad. 

I tried to revert back to Anton but none of my friends like it so Ickle Man he'll stay.  THe only problem is he didn't stay little, he's at the very top of the height range in his breed, do you think someone was trying to tell me something ?

Norman, Norman, Norman, Norman.  Pleeeeeeease.  Norman's a good name :D

one of the most succesful Guide Dog stud dogs was a black labrador called Norman. :)
He sired hundreds of pups ~ most of which qualified as Guide Dogs.  :)

Congrats! Labs are wonderful. There are other threads here that address names for dogs. You could check there also.

I like Norman.

We have a program here called Miracle Pets. Do you have it there? Well....there was this yellow Lab named Norman who was totally blind, but had adapted quite well. His owner lived right on an ocean beach. While they were walking, Norman heard something and took off running. His mistress didn't hear what Norman heard, and called him to come back which he did not. He kept running along the water's edge and then dove into the waves and swam out into the breakers.

Then his owner saw what Norman heard...a young woman was drowning. Norman would lose track of where she was so the owner called out to the drowning woman to keep yelling Norman's name. Norman found her and swam behind her, then around along side her closely so she could grab hold of him. He swam like a Lab swims and strongly brought her to the safety of the sandy shore.

Isn't that a wonderful story? I believe he was rewarded with some kind of hero's medal.
