It is a year since we lost our rosie, she was 18 years old, we had to have her PTS in the end she had a tumour, we wondered were to bury her in the garden and decided on her favorite place which was by the rosemary bush, today i realized just how appropriate it was because its flowering on her anniversary, that put a smile on my face :)

Thats a lovely idea.
I planted a lavender in the back garden and that flowers on Gyp's anniversay.
We have one in the front garden for many years when she came in Gyp always rubbed/walked against it - even though it was out of her way to do so :) and now when ever I catch the scent of lavender I remember her. Sometimes when Sal brushes against it I forget and turn to call Gyp, telling her to "come on" before sadly remembering she never will :(

Hi Karen
I often still call Rosie, she was a rescue we had her for 16 years, so its hard to get out of the habbit of calling Rosie,
When we lost her i did nothing but cry, so we then got Toby whom we love so much but we do still miss Rosie.

I was touched when I read your post...really touched and saddened for you. I know, as do many here the sorrow of losing a pet. You never forget them. But it is a bittersweet thing....such a lovely place to have her lie. Peace.......

Hi,
I was once told you don't ever replace a much loved dog with another.
But the way I see it is if you "love" your dog and loose them, they will have planted a seed in your heart that will be sure to blossom with another.
I've never called Sal - Gyp - but sometimes I get the feeling she is still with us :) especially when the grapes come out ;)
Karen
Toby is different from Rosie, Rosie was a small female terrier and Toby is a big black male lab, they are different dogs, i loved Rosie for who she was and i love Toby for who he is, i couldnt love him anymore than i already do, we idolize him,at the moment Toby is laying on the sofa something i said i wouldnt let him do.
