yesturday my boss went back to wales to pick the vizslas up, he got my fav one 'Wilf' whom we're changing to Will, and his fav bitch (i apologise for the spelling as it is welsh) 'Melin' which is welsh for yellow, which to me makes no sense as she is red or 'russett gold' :D the vet checked them over clean bill of health, they went to a boarding kennels as Will esp is very vocal which we were told is normal of vizslas although Melin is very quiet, and the best bit is that im going to be training Will :D  and next week my boss is going to get the other dog Archie, and seeing them again has persudaded me even more that my next odg is definitley going to be a vizsla

You're nearly right. I understand it's a "Y" instead of "I", "Melyn". What a lovely name! Incidentally, I also understand that "Melin" is Mill in Welsh.

Perhaps it's short for "Melynddu" which is tawny or Melyngoch which is yellow/red or orange. Actually, I think the feminine might be Melen (but I wouldn't put money on it!)

Not bad on the spelling then, if id phoned me dad he could have told me as he is welsh but never thought of it :rolleyes:
my bosses other half and i have managed to convince him that Wilf is better staying Wilf as it suits him better than Will, esp when we reminded him of ethels pug an eastenders being a willy. (no offence intended to the pug worshippers)
Im not sure what they are going to do yet, the training starts the same anyway its only when the are put on substances that it changes but then its only slightly, Melyn is my bosses fav and i think she will more than likely be put on explosives as jake and charlie are due for retirement, Wilf im not sure could be drugs as we are looking to get a narco dog as Sammi, (jacks mum) had to be rehomed as she wouldnt search, unfortunely she was returned to us 2 weeks ago :(  as work commitments had changed.
Ill let you know how the training goes cant wait til monday to begin :D
