Any views on the use of radio dog fences? We have 60 acres which to fence traditionally will be extremely expensive and just wondered if these radio fences are good, bad or indifferent?
quote: When you dog approaches the boundary he will hear a warning beep and if he doesn't return he receives a static correction (which is not harmful)
I would never use shock tactics at all but if you really are determined to use an electric fence, consider the sort where the animal doesn't wear a collar but instead gets a shock direct from the fence, that way there is less chance of injury.
That's what would worry me :( Dog hyped up might ignore pulse or whatever once calm could be stuck. Also could a dog not get into a lot of mischief within 60 acres?
