Hi
Can anyone tell me where I can get a large stair gate as  Abby isnt allowed upstairs and today she cleared our stair gate no problem.
Thanks in advance

Argos do a special dog-gate which is higher than a baby-gate.

Don't know where you can get one from but have you thought about training abby not to go up the stairs. I have 2 dogs and from day 1 of them being in the house they were not allowed upstairs. We do have a door that we close at night but even when the door is open they will not even attempt to go up them. The only time they are allowed upstairs is when we bath them i'm not carting those great lumps up them they can walk :D It will be hard at first but they get the message quickly. Bengi tends to come up if we make too much noise and we holler NO get down those stairs and before weve even finished saying it hes at the bottom tail wagging looking up saying wheres my fuss so we go down and give him a treat for obeying us. but thats once in a blue moon. We don't have a stair gate and have never used one maybe im lucky.

I got a dog control gate and it's great.  I bought it from Argos for £35.  The bars are norrower not even my pups could get through them and it keeps the dogs away from us while we are eating it also keeps the kids away when I am cooking, well that was the idea until my daughter sussed out how to open it in about 5 minutes then showed her brother.

I would not be without now.

We have our stair gate a couple of steps up which seems to prevent a decent run up..suppose it depends on the layout of your house though. There is a wall in front of the stairs in ours so seems to work quite well.

We have got in the main a very open planned house, with very few doors that can be closed. I have ended up making all my gates out of wood roughly 3.5 cm x 2 cm. This way they fit the opening exactly (as wide as I want and as high as I need), they are hinged so when not in use can open back flat against the wall, and have a catch on them so they can be locked shut. I have even made one that fits across my lounge through to hall, that is on a runner so it can slide across the opening. I particually like this one as when I open the front door, if I am in the house on my own, who ever is calling can clearly see the dogs and the dogs can clearly see the caller and get to the caller should the need arise, if you get my drift. Both my boys are really as daft as a brush, but I like to think that if push came to shove then my boys would protect me:-) obviously though if your dogs like the taste of wood then this would not be an ideal solution:-)
