Amy had a beautiful daughter Beth Jade this morning at 01.08.  She went into spontaneous labour so didn't need an induction.  Mum and baby both beautiful and doing fine from one very proud grandma

To Grandma Craigles ... hmmm, nice ring to it :-D Congratulations on the new addition to the family. Hope that Mum and babe are both doing well. Doesn't seem like two minutes ago that my two were small enough to rest in the crook of my arm. Now 8 and 7 it's a million miles away :-( Enjoy 'em while you can .... "Kevin" is just around the corner ;-)

thank you for all your lovely messages, Mum and baby are now home and settling into life without the security of the hospital!  The Father of the baby went to see her last night in the hospital, amazing eh?  I was there 36 hrs and he turns up when I get home!  She said he didn't say much just held her and looked at her looking as though he was going to cry.  He just contacted me direct and asked if he can come round here to see Beth tonight and to have a 'chat'.... I won't hold my breath, mind you, you never know he may be bringing me the £275 pram money he promised me weeks ago!  Mind your head that pig is low flying! lol.  Seriously I know he has a right to see his daughter but he hasn't has much as bought a bib for her and he did promise by text message that if I brought the pram he would pay me back, needless to say no money ever materialised.  Me, bitter Never...lol

Hi Craigles, well done to you all ,maybe you can squeeze in some sleep now, i bet this last week or so has seemed like forever !take care Sue & Lola xx
- By craigles [gb] Date 14.04.04 20:35 UTC
well he came and that's the first time he's arrived when he's made arrangements to come, he even stayed for two hours!  he is absolutely smitten with Beth you can tell and I can't take that fact away from him.  He said I will get my money and he's off work Friday to sort out some finances so he says it may be this weekend (won't hold my breath)  We agreed on a maintenance amount to be payable monthly which I actually thought was very generous so who knows?  He did appear genuine and maybe I've been a bit hasty in my opinion of him and I'm sure only time will tell.  May I just add that Amy was present when this was going on but for some reason he seemed to want to talk to me, Amy is a very laid back sort of person and nothing bothers her and the fact is if he didn't pay Amy wouldn't worry!  Unfortunately I'm not so laid back and expect what is only right

He probably realises its you he's got to convince that he's facing up to his responsibilities!!  I do hope it continues, for Beth's sake.  As Heidi said, seeing her might just have done the trick :)  Wishing you lots of lovely times ahead with your new wee grandaughter :)

How is Beth doing? Feeding well? Sleeping - sick joke I know, but apparently some babies do sleep longer than 20 minutes at a time. :)
- By craigles [gb] Date 15.04.04 17:03 UTC
Beth is doing fine, she went down at 10.30 'ish' last night and Amy woke her at 8a.m this morning, I've not long come in from work and she's been as content as ever all day, right now she is lying in her Moses Basket surveying the ceiling!  She appears to have the nature of my daughter which is good.  Although, is this the calm before the storm?? I'm due to have her in with me on Friday night so Amy can get a lie in but I don't think I'll need to at this rate!
