Hello champdogs.

We own a year old toller ( nova scotia retriever).
He is fantastic in every way, except one.

When returning home or coming towards him, he leaps up to see you, i mean leap!
It was cute when he was a puppy, but now its a bother, he sometimes knocks myself and the kids over.

I know hes being friendly, but i dont want anyone to get injured!!
how can we stop him doing this, its quite hard to ignore him when he jumps at you!

Thanks

You let him get away with it as a puppy so he thinks its OK now his bigger.  you have to give him a firm command and be firm.  Ignoring a Toler won't work if what I have researched about them is true.  you are going to have to be very firm (but not nasty)

when you return home is it possible to return so you don't have to go and see him for 5 minuets, he might calm down but remember dogs hate it (especially Tollers) if you leave them so when you return they want to greet you.

Rox (whos very jelous as she hasn't got a Toller)
