Topic Dog Boards / Visitors Questions / Milk Chocolate Stealing Staffie :-(

I have just got home to find my 2 1/2 yr old staffie boy has eaten about 150grams of milk chocolate (about 5oz) I am worried he will get poisoned from the theobromine :-(

He weighs 23kgs and currently is looking fine (but guilty!).

Does anyone know if this is a dangerous amount for him to have eaten? It will have been within the last 3 hours and he seems ok at the moment.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Sarah.

It very much varies from dog to dog, which is why it can be so dangerous - what's OK for one dog, can be fatal for another, same size, same breed.........  It causes hyperactivity - so watch the respiration rate and heart rate.........  If you have any charcoal biscuits (not something we all have in the biccy tin ;)) they may help.......
