ANY BREEDERS IN SOUTH EAST? BREEDING THIS COLOUR?

is this colour rare, should i expect to pay more, than a common colour?

thanks Becky R

They come in any colour, and you should never pay more for a colour, more for a well bred puppy yes, colour never, I would be worried about anyone who asked for more. Please although it is nice to get the colour you fancy don't forget to check that the parents have had all their health tests and the breeder will be there to support you should you need help with the pup at any time.

lemon and white huskies??????????????????????? Never heard of this colour! it might just be a dilute colour of red, my red and white bitch is very pale almost a yellow/ light light orange colour. However she is classed as red and white.  I know many breeders, none have ever classed their dogs as lemon and white. However if so, let me know, would love to see this colour.

hey huskymad i was just looking through bruce fogle's new dog encyclopedia (full of toddle that book!) but anyway page 130, i would call that lemon and white.

I used to respect his work ole bruce, but this book takes the biscuit!
hoping he had a blip.......

Would think he had nothing to do with the production of the book and was probably mis-guided enough to lend his name to it, after all one person could not have all the information need to produce such a book, mind you as a good deal of it is incorrect may be knowledge is not needed ;)

true very true

The colour is non existent, you appear to be buying from a Breeder who doesn't even know basic sibe colours....
- By Jackie H [gb] Date 12.04.04 19:45 UTC
Would suspect huskymad that may be if the breeder called the colour thus they are not very experienced.

Hi  just got off the phone with a well know sibe breeder who has bred many champions, and she said that lemon and white is not a true description of husky colouring. She does know of a 'less reputable' breeder who advertises her dogs with more exotic descriptions such as 'appriot' and 'lemon' in hope that more people will want to buy puppies from her. She advertises these as 'very rare colour'. Apparently she class her Issabella whites as 'lemon' as they have a cream tinge to the coat. Very Odd!

Very Lucrative :(

I hope by now Guest, you have realised that the breeder is trying to con you, and is therefore unlikely to be a respected breeder with quality pups (by which I mean health tested).

Out of interest, how much were they going to charge you for this 'rare' colour? Even the best bred Sibes from the best show/working stock should cost about £600 max.

There are many, many good breeders of Sibes in this country, with all colours available, though it has to be said, the colour should be the least of your concerns! Contact the SHCGB or the SSHC for more details.
