Patience Dear Carrie - a password will be winging it's way to you. Welcome to Champdogs
Joe :)
You should have received a password automatically unless of course, you are with Almost On Line who block all sorts of posts apparently on a whim.
Welcome to Champdogs - once you get going on here it can be somewhat addictive :D

Hi Carrie
Nice of you to join us. I have only been using the forum for a few weeks but have gained an awful lot of very very helpful advice and made some new "pet pals". It's a friendly forum with friendly, responsible owners who have gone out of their way to be as helpful as possible. It is also so nice that you may ask what may seem like a stupid question and are not laughed at. My motto is, rather ask a silly question than have an unhappy, unhealthy or anti-social pet.
Welcome to champdogs!

Thank you all for your warm welcome. There were some problems with cookies and things with my browser, but all seems to be working now.
You ask, "How can anyone be a dog lover in the worst way?" Well.....my family thinks I should be locked up. I have always had dogs since I was 5 years old. Before my Mom got me my first dog, I use to steal people's dogs on my way home from kindergarten. My Mom would have to figure out who they belonged to. Since getting my first dog, I've never resorted to stealing anyone else's.
I presently have an almost 13 yr. old, female Chocolate Lab, Bonnie, a 2 yr. old blue Chihuahua mix, Jose, a mocha female Chihuahua, Chulita and an 8 month old blk/rust male Doberman Pinscher, Lyric. (Now do you see why they want to lock me up?)
Before these dogs, I've had mutts and a couple GSD whom I loved dearly.
I don't work, live alone with them and am with them most all the time. They are practically my whole life. I'm really into training, especially this Doberman. He's magna cum laude (sp?) and a lot of fun. We're doing agility now....what a blast.
I hope there are others here from the U.S. and that you don't mind me being here. I live in the north panhandle of Idaho, a beautiful state, moved here from Washington 3 yrs. ago. I get a real kick out of Internetting with people from all over. I love your expressions and ways of putting things. I am, by the way quite English by heritage, but also some other things, 1/2 German , but really all American (a mutt) so hopefully I'll fit in all right. LOL.
Again, thanks for your kind welcome.

Hi Carrie
Welcome to Champdogs :) I'm one of the several Lesley's on here :D (I wouldn't mind being a Lesley in the USA, because you pronounce the s as all hissy and soft and it sounds much nicer, not like here where it's hard like a z, sorry got carried away, hate my name!) I've got 2 Italian Spinoni and hope to have another next year :D And a black cat called Billy who rules the roost!

One sandwitch short of a picnic! LOL, LOL!!!! That's good.
What is an Italian Spinoni? Hee hee hee. Is that an Italian Greyhound? I like your name regardless of the s or the z. How 'bout Eliza Doolittle?

Hi Carrie
Spinoni are HPR gundogs, called Spinone Italiano in the USA. If you do a search on google or similar, you'll see them in all their beardy, slobbery chopped glory :D The slobber has miraculous adhesive qualities and can be sent arcing vast distances by a single shake of the head :D

Hi Carrie, isn't this a great site? you do realise that you'll never be able to leave now don't you? Just hope you don't neglect your duties on xp too much LOL :D I joined last month and have been held captive ever since!

Oh wow Leslie! That is ONE cute dog. I love all kinds of hunting dogs...wonderful dispositions. That's why I have a Lab. I was suprised to read about the Spinone being quite an ancient breed and so well suited for cold water. So is a Lab. Not that many dogs are. You know...actually, when I think about it, I may have seen one in a dog show on TV. I remember some type of Griffon. I can imagine the slobber. Oh well, there's always something that goes with the territory with every breed. But I do love soooooooo many breeds. If I had my way.....oh nevermind. You don't want to hear it. As it is, I've got quite a motley crew.
Harriette, You're right. I'm not getting much done today. Uh-oh. I might need to go to "dog forum anonymous." Maybe I'll see you there.
Carrie
