Hello! Im doing an essay on puppy mills and I need all the help I can get! Does anybody know any useful internet sites or stories they can tell me? Thanks for the help!

If you put "puppy mills" into a searcher such as Google it should bring plenty of information up .
There are also pictures if you enter the Images section too.

Thank you lel! Already done the search engines! There are some really sad stories and pictures :( Can anybody tell me the maximum amount of litters of puppies a bitch is meant to have each year? (I think its 1 or 2)

A bitch is not "meant" to have any amount of litters.  Most breeds, with Basenji's being the exception that comes to mind, come into season twice a year and are therefore capable of having two litters a year.

There is no reason for anyone to allow their bitches to have two litters a year (known as back to back breedings), except in very exceptional circumstances.  There are plenty of puppies around and you often find the people who have back to back breedings also have other bitches having puppies on a regular basis.

Puppy farming is a very emotive subject - perhaps in your essay you could balance it by saying what "should" happen when rearing pups responsibly as well as the irresponsible side of things?

This could be a very, very long essay :D

I just did the search, and looked at images, my god I don't think I ever realised things like this happened, i am so naive, haven't took a great interest in dogs before and only after getting a puppy am i information thirsty and boy them pics certainly opened my eyes!

Hello craigles. Unfortunately a lot of people dont know about puppy farms so they go out and buy pups from them :( Try looking at your local paper and Im sure there will be a puppy farm there :( (Lots of puppies from one breeder) Pet shops also have farm puppies. Its so sad to see them like this. If only people would know more about puppy farms before buying a puppy
