Would you think it is o.k. to give 6month old Spice a small quantity of lambs liver mixed into her puppy food occasionally?
We have given Spice a variety of food such as veggies, hotdog(in her kong) and cheese (small amounts) without any adverse effects, but do you think liver would be a bit strong for her to digest?

The only time she has been sick was when she ate some horse poo during a walk in the new forest  we couldn't get to her in time to stop her,but since then it seems to work if we shout at her saying 'leave' and she just now gives a look of total disgust to us and will carry on walking without eating it!

We had a liver and bacon dinner last night and her nose went into overdrive :D but I thought maybe she could be a little young for it yet?

We used to give our other dog chickens liver but she was a lot older than Spice is.

Any advice welcome,thanks
Jacqueline.

Yes no problem at all, if you over do it she may get the runs but it will do no harm, raw liver in small quantities is very good as it contains one of the vital elements B12 I think, one of the experts will put me right if my memory has failed me yet again ;)

I can't see the problem in giving her small quantaties at a time, she may get the runs as Jackie pojnted out but apart from that she will be fine and will be good for her.  I think chicken liver is the best isn't it???  Not sure

any sort of liver, lambs, ox, pigs or chicken liver is fine but I would not feed it more than once a week.  If she can digest hot dogs (yuk) she can manage liver which is extremely nutritious and a good source of Vitamin A, however it is a laxative and will turn the stool black (in case you think something has gone terribly wrong) :D

Our dog loves any sort of food human and dog :) but hates liver :( raw he just looks at it or if you mix it with his food he spits it out.
So we tried cooking it which stank the whole house out :( and he eagerly takes it as a treat but then spits it out on the floor, to be honest it smelt so bad we're quite glad he doesn't like it :)

My dogs wont eat raw liver, but they love it iff i bake it in the oven.
1 tablespoon daily is fine to feed as an adult dog,not too sure about a pup as an overload of liver/vit.A can cause skeletal disease in dogs.I would stick to 2-3 times per week until he is fully grown. A little bit of everything is fine, except for chocolate and onions etc.
