Our Betty died last Sunday, she was my sister, the one I`d told you about & we`re all heartbroken. I couldn`t get there in time it happened so quick but I managed to get there in the evening tho. I`m back home now & go back on Monday her funeral is next Wednesday. She rang me on the Saturday night & sounded strong & I told her to be patient we would find her a lovely home & asked her to stay strong for me but she had nothing left. She hated it there & wanted to go home. She`s at peace now & out of the awful pain she had, I`m sad for me but not for her & I`m going to miss her terribly.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Christine. :( :( It sounds like a merciful release for poor Betty. Remember her as she really was - young and active and well. My sympathies to you and the rest of your family.

Dear Christine,i am so sorry.The devastation you must be feeling right now is incomprehensible to me as i couldnt imagine the thought of losing my sister,there is nothing quite like the sisterly bond :)
I'm not a religious person but i truly beleive in heaven and i know we will all be united with our loved ones,one day.I'm sure Betty will be looking out for you,she'll be your extra guardian angel.

Thanks so much everyone. Being home the past couple of days has made it seem not real but I know it is because I can`t phone her.

Hi, I`ve been back just over 2wks now but didn`t feel able to post here straight away.
It was hard but got harder when I came back home & left my family back in UK. I`ve got an emptiness inside I don`t think will ever go away.
The one best thing I ever did was to close my kennels last yr so I was able to go over & spend time with her before she died, I`m so glad we had that time. Also the night before she died we`d had a chat on the phone & the last thing I said was I love you Bet, she said I love you too, it was quite late & I was the last of the family to speak to her. She was 15yrs older than me & in some ways a bit like me mum :)
I`m trying to get life back to normal now but it`s not easy, I`ll just have to wait for time to do it`s work.
